History of the Faculty
The Faculty of Engineering at Khon Kaen University was founded in 1964 as the first engineering faculty outside of Bangkok. It was established with the aim of producing engineers who could support the development of the Northeastern region of Thailand. At that time, the region faced challenges such as insufficient infrastructure and limited access to resources, making it a priority for national development efforts.
Since its inception, the faculty has grown significantly, both in size and scope. It now offers a wide range of engineering disciplines, including civil, electrical, mechanical, and chemical engineering. The faculty continues to be a key player in driving innovation, research, and technological advancement, benefiting both the local community and the country as a whole.
